Catorce Tan

SPORTS INJURIES & REHABILITATION

Catorce is the founder of Odypedia Academy, where his mission is to empower youth athletes through the application of sport science and evidence-based training principles. He is passionate about making scientific knowledge accessible to young athletes, with the belief that informed training and education can create a more supportive and sustainable development pathway for youth in sport.

Currently a PhD Candidate awaiting his oral defence, Catorce’s academic work focuses on the role of caffeine as an ergogenic aid in sports performance, with particular interest in basketball performance and female athletes. As the landscape of sport continues to evolve, he has also expanded his research into understanding the menstrual cycle and its impact on female athlete performance, an area that is increasingly important as more women participate in competitive sport.

Beyond research, Catorce is also an active youth basketball coach, working closely with athletes aged 13 to 18 years. Through years of coaching and mentorship, he has come to believe that sport should be more than just competition — it should be a platform for personal growth. His coaching philosophy reflects this belief: develop better human beings first, better students second, and better athletes third.

Odypedia Academy was created with the vision of bridging the gap between sport science knowledge and real-world athletic development. By sharing research-backed insights in a way that is accessible to young athletes and their families, Catorce hopes to help nurture healthier, smarter, and more sustainable sporting journeys for the next generation.
